Dugout throwback: Sampdoria down mighty Juventus at Marassi
Exactly one year ago today, Sampdoria enjoyed the finest day of their second season under Marco Giampaolo. The Blucerchiati pulled off the titanic feat of putting three goals past the mighty Juventus as they served up the perfect performance against Massimiliano Allegri’s men.
The game ended 3-2, as goals from Duvan Zapata, Lucas Torreira and Gian Marco Ferrari were enough despite late consolations from Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala. Indeed, both the Bianconeri’s goals came in second-half stoppage time, with the Marassi faithful already celebrating a win that had been seven years coming.
