Dugout, Debut Goals: Fernando strikes against Carpi on Serie A bow
Not everyone gets to celebrate their Serie A debut with a goal but that’s exactly what Fernando Lucas Martins did on his first league appearance for Sampdoria in August 2015.
Having joined the Blucerchiati from Shakhtar Donetsk one month before, the Brazilian wasted no time in introducing himself to the Marassi faithful as he curled an inch-perfect free kick into the top corner in a 5-2 victory over Carpi on the opening day of the 2015/16 season.
Fernando would score four goals for Samp in his only season at the club before switching to Spartak Moscow, where he continues to ply his trade now. However, the pick of the bunch is undoubtedly this magnificent set piece chosen by Dugout for their playlist.
