Throwback, 5 March: Lazaros the Greek scores a peach against Hellas Verona
5 March 2016. Lazaros Christodoulopoulos takes up a promising position in the centre of the box, watches Lorenzo De Silvestri’s cross sail his way and lets fly with a stunning volleyed finish to give Samp a 3-0 lead.
It was a fine – and historic – goal, with Lazaros becoming the first Greek player ever to score for Sampdoria. The game also featured goals from Roberto Soriano and Antonio Cassano – his last for the club.
Check out Lazaros’ goal below as part of Dugout’s Throwback feature.
