U19s: Bellucci and Prelec strike to see off Entella in the cup

A goal in each half by Riccardo Bellucci and Nik Prelec was enough for Sampdoria Primavera to dispatch Entella 2-0 in the first round of the U19 Coppa Italia on Wednesday.

Bellucci, the son of former Samp forward Claudio, struck the opener 10 minutes before half time. Prelec burst clear down the left and picked out Simone Trimboli in the centre; the captain’s finish was parried by the Entella keeper but Bellucci slid in to poke home the loose ball.

Doria managed to repel the visitors’ attempts to get back in the game after the break and Prelec finally put the result beyond doubt when he doubled the lead with two minutes of normal time remaining.

The Blucerchiati will face either Torino or Spezia – who meet on Thursday – in the second round on Wednesday 30 September.
