Ferrari tells Samp TV: “Here for Ferrero, Giampaolo and the World Cup”

About time too! Gian Marco Ferrari is in Wales as a Sampdoria player. The long negotiations have finally been concluded much to the delight of everyone, as the new centre back revealed to Samp TV.

“I did everything to come here,” said the Blucerchiati man. “The club made it clear they wanted to bring me in and I couldn’t wait to join. I’ve played at every level from the fifth tier up to Serie A and it’s an honour to wear these colours. I must thank president Ferrero, the coach and the club.”

A new city and a new team for Ferrari but there are a few old faces around to greet him, such as Leonardo Capezzi. “Leo and I were in touch all summer,” he said of his team-mate at Crotone. “He told me to join but I’d already made up my mind. I know how important this season could be both for me and the team. It’s a World Cup year and I want to try and make the squad.”

Finally, a word on coach Marco Giampaolo: “The coach is one of the best around defensively and he will enhance my small repertoire.”

Let the games begin!
