Gabbiadini wants a reaction: “This team is playing well”

One hundred and thirty-six minutes played, two goals and an assist: Manolo Gabbiadini has slotted right back in at Sampdoria.

Unluckily for the Italian striker, his substitute goal that temporarily restored parity at the San Siro ultimately served for nothing. The result this evening is a tough pill to swallow.

“We’re disappointed,” Gabbiadini began, “because we could have done better and taken some points home. We should’ve kept things tighter after the equaliser and we could’ve hurt them more because Inter were leaving spaces open. It’s up to us to react ahead of our upcoming games.”

On a personal note, Manolo can be pleased with the way his second spell at Samp has begun, even though he admits he still needs to adapt to Giampaolo’s playing style.

“I need to quickly adapt and I think I’m managing so far. The team is functioning well. Whether I start or come on as a sub, it makes no difference, the aim is always to improve. Obviously winning is our main aim. We’ve got a good of talented strikers and whoever plays does well, as in other areas of the team.”
