Giampaolo hails best-ever performance: “Enthusiasm beyond all expectations”

Marco Giampaolo had asked his players to go above and beyond against AC Milan and the Blucerchiati more than delivered.

Indeed, the 2-0 final scoreline does scant justice to just how good Sampdoria were this afternoon.

“This was the best performance since I’ve been here,” Giampaolo declared after the game. “The match was excellent from every point of view.”

The Samp coach didn’t hold back with the words of praise: “I’m pleased for everybody, the players, the club and our fans. Can we compete against the big clubs? There’s still time and I’m looking for even more improvements.

“We were consistent throughout the whole game today, which we’re not always capable of doing.”

Giampaolo signed off with a few words on the support at the Marassi.

“The crowd drives you forward here and the enthusiasm takes you to another level.”
