Samp own Genoa. Ramirez and Quagliarella claim derby spoils

Sampdoria made derby history on Saturday night as a goal in each half by Gaston Ramirez and Fabio Quagliarella secured a third straight league victory over Genoa to see the Blucerchiati move 17 points clear of their city rivals in the standings.

Duvan Zapata was the provider of both goals, first heading on for the Uruguayan to open the scoring midway through the opening period and then centring for our topscorer to notch his seventh of the campaign with six minutes left to play.

Quagliarella’s strike was the cue for wild celebrations in the Gradinata Sud and Samp fans around the world as Marco Giampaolo’s side stamped their authority on the derby once again.
