Samp work on Udinese tactics as league debut beckons

The team were back at the training ground on Friday to step up preparations for their first match of the Serie A campaign against Udinese.

Marco Giampaolo gathered the squad in the video room to start with, before they all headed out to pitch 2 for tactical drills focusing on Sunday’s opponents at Dacia Arena, with Walter Sabatini and Carlo Osti watching on from the sidelines.

Dennis Praet and Vasco Regini meanwhile continued with their respective programmes in Domodossola with injury recovery coach Umberto Borino. Lorenzo Tonelli trained separately while Junior Tavares had physio and did some individual work after bruising his shoulder in Thursday’s training game. Gianluca Caprari, who will miss the match through suspension, also trained on his own.

The team will be back in Bogliasco on Saturday morning for their final session before setting off for Udine. Giampaolo will sit down with the media for his pre-match news conference at 12:30 CEST.
