Bereszynski, Linetty, Colley on losing side as Poland and Gambia lose

Three of Samp’s international stars were on the wrong end of defeats as Poland and Gambia suffered qualifying setbacks on Friday.

Poland’s 100% start to their European Championship qualifying campaign came to an end as they slipped to an unexpected 2-0 loss (Struna 35, Sporar 65) at the hands of Slovenia in Ljubljana.

Bartosz Bereszynski played the full game while Karol Linetty was an unused substitute.

Poland nonetheless remain top of Group G, three points clear of second-placed Austria, who visit Warsaw on Monday 9 September.

Omar Colley’s Gambia meanwhile lost 1-0 (Carmo 32) to Angola in the first leg of their 2022 World Cup qualifier, with the Samp defender playing the full match.

Gambia will look to turn the tie around when they travel to Luanda on Tuesday 10 September.
