Bonazzoli: “Another unforgettable evening with a brace and three points”

“I didn’t think it could get any better than in Udine the other evening…” Federico Bonazzoli certainly got that wrong, given that his display at the Marassi against Cagliari was simply sensational. His first goal involved a fine solo effort while his second was an acrobatic footballing masterpiece. The visitors were simply helpless to stop him. “We’ve picked up three key points and I scored my first brace. While I’ll never forget my overhead kick, I won’t forget this evening either.”

For Bonazzoli’s goal to make it 2-0, Manolo Gabbiadini was calling for the pass expectantly, but it was never going to come his way. “I didn’t want to listen to Manolo’s calls for the ball. I went on my own and it worked out. As for the second, it was a great goal. It was the only way for me to make contact with the ball. Let’s kick on from here. We’re working hard and want to get three more points against Parma.”

In terms of celebrations, the 23-year-old revealed the roles that two of his team-mates played. “I went over to [Fabio] Quagliarella because he always gives me advice and helps me out. He’s my idol. I celebrated the second goal with [Andrea] Seculin, who’s my team-mate on shooting games on the PlayStation.”
