Sampdoria players called up for international duty

It’s international week again and there are plenty of Sampdoria players heading off around the world to represent their countries.

Polish duo Bartosz Bereszynski and Karol Linetty have been called up by national team coach Adam Nawalka for Poland’s World Cup qualifier against Ljubisa Tumbakovic’s Montenegro in Podgorica on 26 March.

Daniel Pavlovic has received his first call-up to the Bosnia & Herzegovina squad. The full-back, who was born in Switzerland but qualifies to play for Bosnia, will be hoping to make his debut in the World Cup qualifier against Gibraltar in Zenica on 25 March. Bosnia also face Albania in a friendly in Elbasan on 28 March.

Patrik Schick has been given the all clear to link up with Czech Republic after an ankle injury forced him off against Juventus on Sunday. Czech Republic face Lithuania in a friendly match in Usti nad Labem on Wednesday 22 March before travelling to San Marino for a World Cup qualifier on Sunday 26 March.

Milan Skriniar’s Slovakia side will head to Malta for a World Cup qualifier on Sunday 26 March.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Luis Muriel’s Colombia side have a crucial week ahead for their World Cup 2018 qualification hopes. Jose Pekerman’s team face Bolivia on 23 March before taking on Ecuador on 28 March as they look to secure one of the top five places in the South American qualification group.

In terms of U21 call-ups, Portugal U21 captain Bruno Fernandes will lead his compatriots in two friendlies against Norway in Estoril on 24 March and Germany in Stuttgart on 28 March.

Lithuania goalkeeper Titas Krapikas has been called up for the first time ahead of friendlies against Belarus (25 March) and Latvia (28 March).
