Viviano talks to Samp TV: “We never doubted ourselves. The fans have always been behind us”

Emiliano Viviano believes Sampdoria’s spectacular opening-day victory against Carpi will help silence some of the doubters after the team’s bruising 4-0 Europa League defeat but insists there was never any doubt in the players’ or the fans’ minds.

“We knew the match in Turin was a one-off and we just knuckled down and got on with our jobs,” the Blucerchiati keeper told Samp TV after the 5-2 triumph over Carpi in Marassi. “The real fans have always been behind us,” he added.
