Zenga pleased for today’s victory: “We played fantastic football”

Walter Zenga could only have dreamed of this kind of debut as manager in Serie A. What a wonderful, unforgettable first half at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris this evening!

After the game, the Blucerchiati coach had this to say to the media: “I’m happy because the guys started the game how we wanted and some of the football they played was unbelievably good. My players showed they are a great team. If they keep their concentration high, they can play great football and please everyone who comes to watch. I’ve got nothing but praise for them.

“Being top of the league means we’ve made a good start and we’re working with spirit, intensity and passion. We’ve got an away trip to Napoli coming up and that won’t be easy at all. The league is a marathon and we must do our best to be consistent in our performances and our results. I can only thank my players because they have all worked very hard.
