St George’s eTrophy: Sampdoria competes in saint’s honour
Every 23 April we celebrate Genoa patron St. George, the dragon slayer, whose red cross against a white background forms the city’s flag. However it is not only in the Ligurian city that St. George is celebrated, which is why the Spanish side Huesca had the idea of organising an eSports tournament on FIFA 20 – the St. George’s eTrophy – involving all the clubs that in some way share this curious historical link.
In the name of St. George. ??????? #Sampdoria will be there.pic.twitter.com/yy3NdqPlSA

Competition. Sampdoria, the team that wears the St George flag on its chest, just had to take part. Represented by Thomas Saiani (ASAP_TOM96), the Blucerchiati will be involved in this eSports tournament alongside Huesca, Eibar and Espanyol from Spain as well as Germany’s Augsburg and Italy’s Bologna. Tomorrow, on Thursday, our gamer will pick up his controller from 17:00 CEST to compete and bring us something to enjoy and, perhaps, celebrate.
