Nations League: Sampdoria round-up

There was one win, one draw and one defeat for Sampdoria’s international contingent over the weekend, as three Blucerchiati men were involved in Nations League action for their respective countries.

Bartosz Bereszynski played the full 90 minutes as Poland held Italy to a 0-0 draw on Sunday. It was an excellent performance from the Doria full-back to help secure a point for his side, with Poland remaining one point behind leaders Italy in League A Group 1 as a result.

Morten Thorsby, meanwhile, was an unused substitute as Norway beat Romania 4-0 in Oslo. Erling Braut Haaland scored a hat-trick as Norway got the three points to stay joint top of League B Group 1 alongside Austria.

It was a bad day at the office for Albin Ekdal as Sweden were beaten 2-1 by Croatia in Zagreb to keep them rooted to the foot of League A Group 3. Having started the game, Ekdal was substituted shortly before Andrej Kramaric’s 83rd-minute winner for the Croats.
