Sampdoria turn out for the fans in the town of Ponte di Legno

It was a not so much “farewell” but rather “see you soon” in the words of Marco Giampaolo. He was there, alongside his assistant Francesco Conti and sporting director Carlo Osti to lead the Blucerchiati party as they rolled into town to meet the supporters of Ponte di Legno.

Captain Angelo Palombo got things started on the stage in piazza XXVII to a round of applause from the crowd. The squad then appeared one by one in order of position – the goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards all enjoying a warm reception from the Samp fans. A small reminder of the passion that will accompany them – be it at Marassi or on their travels – all season long.
