Giampaolo rallies the troops: “We need to show character”
With two wins already in the bag so far this season, Marco Giampaolo wants his side to keep their run going against Roma.
While the game is being billed as big test for Sampdoria, the coach believes that is the case in every match.
“Every opponent will give you problems. We know this is going to be a difficult game, given the quality we’re up against,” he said at the pre-match press conference.
Giampaolo admits the Giallorossi are strong in attack and in possession, and says Doria will need to approach the game with confidence.
“We have to try and stop Roma hurting us, but we want to leave the pitch having played our own game.”
Both sides will be going into the match with a number of players returning from international duty, something which the Samp coach says is an issue for every team.
Giampaolo confirmed that Luis Muriel is set to feature in tomorrow’s clash at the Olimpico, after travelling to represent Colombia.
“He trained this morning with us, and will start the game.”
