Linetty thanks Samp faithful for their support, looks ahead to Chievo

Karol Linetty may have been slightly at fault for Lazio’s opening goal, but he more than made up for it with a tenacious, dynamic showing that we have grown accustomed to. The youngster is a real fighter and was one of Samp’s best performers at the Marassi on Saturday evening.

Speaking to Samp TV after the defeat to Lazio, the young Pole said: “Today was a difficult game. We lost two goals very quickly at the end of the first half.”

“In the second half we played much better and we could have scored more goals. But we didn’t do this and lost the game,” he continued.

Linetty acknowledged that he could have done better against Anderson, who set up Lazio’s first goal.

“I know I made a mistake for the first goal. He was a little smarter than me.”

The team’s effort throughout the game did not go unnoticed, as the team were cheered heartily by the home fans after the final whistle.

“I love [the fans] because they help us all the time. When we think we’re a little tired, they [can help us] run more.”

Looking ahead to the next game, the midfielder called on the side to bounce back in their next game, against Chievo.

“What we did wrong here, we have to change. We have to win because we need points.”
