Technique and tactics on the upper pitch, training behind closed doors on Friday

Sampdoria continued their preparations for the home match against Empoli with an afternoon session on the upper pitch of the Centro Sportivo Gloriano Mugnaini on Thursday.

After a fitness-based warm-up, Marco Giampaolo’s Blucerchiati squad focused on a series of technique drills and tactical exercises before getting stuck into a practice game to finish. Primavera midfielder Andrea Tessiore joined in with the first team.

Matias Silvestre – who is suspended for the game against Empoli – had a strength session in the gym and pool, while Jacopo Sala continued working on his rehab plan and Emiliano Viviano focused on his own recovery from injury.

The squad will train behind closed doors on Friday morning.
