Samp back into training with double session, Barreto undergoes treatment

Following two rest days off the back of Samp’s victory over Milan, Marco Giampaolo brought his players back to Bogliasco today for a double training session. The squad was divided into two groups, which during the morning alternated work in the gym with fitness and tactical drills on the upper pitch.

In the afternoon, training focused on technical and tactical aspects, as players competed in training matches and were put through ball possession drills. Damiano Tommasi was in attendance, visiting in his capacity as president of the Italian Footballers’ Association.

Three players did not participate in the training session. Edgar Barreto underwent treatment, physiotherapy and swimming pool work along with Wladimiro Falcone, having pulled a muscle during the warm up at the San Siro. Meanwhile Jacopo Sala continued his recovery programme, which included time out on the field.

The staff have scheduled a double training session, which will take place in groups on Thursday.
