Giampaolo: “Too many mistakes today”
Marco Giampaolo admitted his side made too many errors as they were beaten 2-1 by Sassuolo on Saturday afternoon. It was a first defeat for Sampdoria since the loss to Juventus on 19 March.
“We had got used to winning and had forgotten how much it hurts to lose. We made a few more mistakes that we usually do,” said the Samp coach after the final whistle.
“Sassuolo played well,” he continued. “It was an even game. We went for it, but we could have been better at times. In a sense it’s a missed opportunity because we wanted to cut the gap with Fiorentina, but we couldn’t manage it.”
