Giampaolo takes responsibility for heavy Lazio defeat

Following a deeply disappointing loss away at Lazio, the Blucerchiati boss shared his thoughts on what unfolded.

“It was a non-game; we were a bit short, physically and mentally, coming into this game. There were a lot of incidents in the game but I won’t make any excuses. I take responsibility for this match,” he said.

“We still have three games left and we need to end the season well. I probably made a mistake during the week.

“My team has given so much during the season, so at this late stage you can find that you lack that bit of energy and mental strength. So I need to think about this game. It’s my fault because I didn’t bring the team here in the best condition to perform.”
