Kownacki: “I’ll give my all for Sampdoria. I’m here to score goals”

Dawid Kownacki is looking forward to getting started at Sampdoria as he embarks upon a new mission away from his beloved Poland.

“This is the first time I’ve lived outside of my country,” explained the 20-year-old striker, whose nerves in front of the Samp TV cameras are at odds with his ice-cold poise in the penalty box. “Playing for Sampdoria is a huge step in the career of any player so I’m delighted to be here. It was the right decision to come here to Genoa.”

The young striker revealed that he is aiming for plenty of playing time at Marassi, but accepted that the move was a challenge.

“I want to play as much as possible, help the team and score goals,” he said. “It’ll take a bit of time for me to get used to a new league and a new team, but I have two friends here in Linetty and Bereszynski and I’m sure they’ll help me to improve and integrate as quickly as possible. My message to the fans is simple: Forza Sampdoria!”
