Giampaolo savours another win: “We’re relaxed and we’ll keep improving”
Sampdoria switched off last season at home to Crotone, whereas it was a completely different story on Saturday. The Blucerchiati had the Rossoblu on the ropes right from the word go much to the delight of Marco Giampaolo.
“We approached the game well,” said the Doria head coach. “There was more pressure on us because we were expected to win the match. It wasn’t easy today nor will it be on Tuesday for Inter against us. We managed the game and didn’t switch off.”
No one had won four out of four at home apart from Vujadin Boskov’s title-winning side back in 1990/91. The fans are beginning to think big. “The aim is to keep getting better,” Giampaolo told Samp TV. “We want to be ambitious but not cocky and keep achieving more. We’ll enjoy a more relaxed evening. We have to rest up and stay calm so we can go to Milan and play our own game. My message to the supporters is to enjoy these boys’ performances and I’ll worry about getting the best out of them.”
