Zapata gives his take on Udinese winner

Duvan Zapata scored his first home goal since December in Sunday’s game against Udinese, producing one of the most spectacular strikes of the season.

As he explained after the game, there was a degree of fortune involved: “With that chance, I got to the area and saw Fabio Quagliarella reaching the far post. My intention was to send it over to him – but that’s what happened.

“I’m glad to have helped the team to win a tough game. Today I had the luck I didn’t get against Verona and in other games, so I’m glad.

“I’m happy to have scored – we want to keep going in this direction and reach our aims. Our next game will be key from that point of view. The Milan game is behind us now.

“I’m happy to get the fans’ support – it’s very important to us. I want to give my best for Sampdoria. We’re high up the table and we want to stay there.”
