Torreira makes Uruguay debut in China Cup victory over Czech Republic
Lucas Torreira made his senior Uruguay debut and Gaston Ramirez returned to the national team as Oscar Tabarez’s side beat the Czech Republic 2-0 at the China Cup on Friday.
Ramirez entered the fray in the 61st minute while Torreira came on as a 68th-minute sub, going on to complete 100% of his passes.
A Luis Suarez penalty (10) and a goal by Edinson Cavani (37) had put Uruguay two-nil up before the break at Guangxi Sports Center.
The South Americans will face Wales in the China Cup final on Monday after Gareth Bale struck a hat-trick in a 6-0 drubbing of the host nation earlier in the day.
