Praet glad to be back on the score-sheet: “I’m even happier with the result”

Dennis Praet last found the back of the net over one year ago, in January 2017 against Roma. It was at the same end at the Marassi that he broke his goal-scoring duck, setting Samp on their way to a 4-1 win over Cagliari on Sunday.

“I’m very happy, of course, but I’m even happier with the result.  We needed to win and we did that,” said.

“I play where the boss wants me to play,” the midfielder commented, having changed roles in the second half following Fabio Quagliarella’s departure from proceedings.

“I know I can also play behind the front-men, as happened today. When you’re nearer the goal you get more chances, obviously.

“The Europa League? We’re four points behind Atalanta and three behind Milan. We still believe.”
