Sampdoria continue preparations for SPAL trip, more training on Thursday

Marco Giampaolo’s Sampdoria squad were back at the Centro Sportivo Gloriano Mugnaini in Bogliasco on Wednesday as they continued their preparations for Sunday’s trip to SPAL.

After warming up, the players focused on technique drills and tactics exercises before rounding the session off with a practice game. Edgar Barreto, Fabio Quagliarella, Duvan Zapata and Jacopo Sala (who was suffering from a sore flexor muscle in his left leg) did not take part in full training, instead receiving treatment and working through individual drills outside.

Emiliano Viviano received physiotherapy, while Nicola Murru trained with his team-mates for the second day running after returning from his own injury lay-off.

The session was observed by around thirty teaching staff and students on the Sport Science course at the University of Genoa, with the group able to discuss the training methods used with Giampaolo and his backroom team after the session.

The Blucerchiati will be back at the training ground on Thursday morning for more SPAL prep.
