Samp straight back in training ahead of Fiorentina clash
No rest for the wicked. Samp were straight back on the training pitch on Sunday morning, having returned from Frosinone overnight after their 5-0 win on Saturday evening.
The players had some time to rest at the AC Hotel in Genoa – the team’s usual hotel for home games – before this morning’s session, which focused on the visit of Fiorentina on Wednesday.
Marco Giampaolo and his coaching staff split the squad up into two groups, with those involved for all or most of the game against Frosinone working through a recovery session while the rest of the squad – including Dennis Praet, who was taking full part in training – focused on fitness and technique drills.
Gianluca Caprari (bruised right thigh) had physiotherapy and trained in the pool, while Lorenzo Tonelli trained separately outside. Riccardo Saponara had a rest day, having been at the training ground to work on his recovery plan on Saturday.
The squad will train again on Monday afternoon.
