Caprari cancels out Simeone as spoils are shared in Marassi

Sampdoria and Fiorentina settled for a point apiece in their rescheduled Week 1 fixture to maintain their respective good starts to the campaign.

Both sides went into the game on six points knowing a win would take them up to second place. Both teams went for it and ultimately both can be happy as the draw was a fair result.

Gianluca Caprari almost levelled before the break with a well-struck free kick that unfortunately came back off the bar as the visitors ended the opening half a goal to the good.

After the restart, the Italian saw a similar effort palmed over by Bartolomiej Dragowski before finally getting his reward on the hour mark when he steered home from the edge of the box.
