Sampdoria back where it all began: team photo shoot in Galleria Mazzini

12 August 1946 is the date sewn into the shirts and etched in the minds of all Sampdoria fans. That day, 72 years ago, Unione Calcio Sampdoria was formed in Galleria Mazzini, in the heart of Genoa. Today the current squad returned to the place where it all began for their team photo shoot.

The Blucerchiati squad was out in full having travelled into the centre from Bogliasco by coach. And there in the arcade, amidst shopkeepers, fans and simple passers-by, they posed for the cameras of Simone Arveda and Paolo Rattini of Pegaso Newsport. Reinforcing the unbreakable bond between Sampdoria and the city.
