Caprari dedicates quick-fire brace to team-mates and fans

Gianluca Caprari came off the bench with only five minutes to play in Samp’s trip to Empoli on Saturday, but the Italian forward managed to score a quick-fire double that earned his side all three points.

After his first ever brace, the striker said: “I want to dedicate my goals to the team. My goals come thanks to them.

“I’d also like to say a special thank you to the fans. It was an important win today – we put in a very good performance, keeping the ball well. We still have room to improve, though.

“I was angry because I wanted to play, but of course the boss makes those calls. I came on determined to do well.

“I was lucky with the goals. I didn’t intend to do that on the second one; I wanted to cross the ball, but it went in.

“Now we turn our attentions to Wednesday – there are some precious points up for grabs against Chievo.”
