Quagliarella and Ramirez down Chievo and send Samp fifth

Goals by Fabio Quagliarella and Gaston Ramirez were enough for Sampdoria to beat Chievo 2-0 in their last home game of 2018 as the Blucerchiati moved up to fifth in the table.

After earning three points for Christmas against Empoli, Marco Giampaolo’s men provided more festive cheer in front of the Ferraris faithful on Boxing Day.

Both goals came early in the second half as captain Quagliarella celebrated his new contract – delivered by Santa himself on Christmas Day – with his eighth consecutive Serie A goal while Ramirez came off the bench to net his third in the month of December.
