Build-up to Frosinone begins

Sampdoria reported back to the Centro Sportivo Mugnaini in Bogliasco on Tuesday to kick off preparations for their next game, at home to Frosinone.

After the warm-up, Marco Giampaolo had the players focus on possession-based drills before moving on to some small-sided games.

Deadline-day signing Marco Sau joined in with the rest of the squad for the first time and Fabio Quagliarella was also present, having returned from a two-day training camp in Coverciano with the Italy squad.

Primavera youngsters Leonardo Benedetti, Tommaso Farabegoli, Daouda Peeters and Matteo Raspa were also drafted in for today’s session.

Edgar Barreto and Jacopo Sala followed personalised programmes while Gianluca Caprari, who has begun his rehabilitation, dropped in to pay his team-mates a visit.

The Blucerchiati will be back at the training ground on Wednesday for a double session.
