Ranieri lauds Samp display: “It was almost perfect”

The coach had asked the team to replicate the performance from the last game before the winter break minus the goals conceded when the Blucerchiati played so well against Juventus. After the goalless draw, Claudio Ranieri spoke about how happy he was with the fact that his team had shut out the hosts at San Siro with a gutsy display. “It was a great performance. We did manage to score in the first half, but it was ruled out for offside. The team expressed itself well, so I’m pleased.”

When asked if there was a bitter feeling about not turning one point into three, Ranieri responded: “Bitterness? No. When you come to play at this stadium, you know you’ll have to produce a perfect performance. We were almost perfect. It’s a shame because two more points would’ve been very useful given our current situation in the league. We head back to Genoa with so many yellow cards, although it didn’t seem to be a particularly feisty game to me. As for the injuries, we’ll assess Depaoli and Ramirez with the doctor when training resumes.”
