More group work ahead of Cagliari

The squad had another training session split in two groups on Friday after the COVID-19 tests taken on Thursday came back negative. Further tests were taken today ahead of Saturday’s session.

Claudio Ranieri and the coaching staff had the players who didn’t play much or at all in the derby – including Morten Thorsby – begin with warm-up work in the gym, followed by a strength circuit, tactical drills and a training match.

Meanwhile those more heavily involved on Wednesday had a warm-up before moving onto tactical drills and aerobic recovery work.

Ernesto Torregrossa followed a personalised programme while Kristoffer Askildsen and Mikkel Damsgaard were rested again as a precautionary measure. The footballer who tested positive on Tuesday remains at home in self-isolation.
