D’Aversa hails club ambition and Samp fans

Roberto D’Aversa was officially unveiled to the media at a news conference held at the Stadio Ferraris on Tuesday.

The new Sampdoria head coach was accompanied by president Massimo Ferrero and technical director Carlo Osti.

“Coming back to Sampdoria is like realising a dream,” said the former midfielder, who spent a season in Blucerchiati colours during his playing days.

“I’m proud to join such a prestigious club. I clearly remember the way the fans in the Gradinata Sud get behind the team during matches and I hope we’ll have our fans back at the stadium soon.

“Sampdoria are an ambitious club with some very good players and I’m confident we can achieve great results here.”
