D’Aversa rues mistakes in Juve loss

Roberto D’Aversa cut a disappointed figure on Sunday afternoon having watched his side suffer a second defeat in just a matter of days. After the defeat to Napoli, the Blucerchiati were beaten 3-2 by Juventus.

Speaking after the contest, the coach said: “We certainly made mistakes in the first half in terms of lacking precision. Basic technical mistakes, against a Juventus team that could hurt us.

“Never before have we conceded so many chances as in the first 45 minutes. If you score twice and fail to get a result in Serie A, you need to ask why. We have work to do.”

He added: “It’s unfortunate that we’re brave enough to push high up the pitch but then we concede avoidable goals. I’m referring to the penalty, but not only that – especially the third goal.

“We mustn’t get used to defeat and be happy because we played well against the big sides. We must learn to sense danger and understand that every detail, even a single throw-in, can make the difference.

“We’ll use this week to recover and prepare for the game against Udinese. There are no easy games in Serie A.”
