Samp match Atalanta before coming unstuck in final 15 minutes
Sampdoria were left to rue what might have been after they produced a valiant display at high-flying Atalanta only to come away empty-handed.
The Blucerchiati gave as good as they got at Gewiss Stadium, matching the Champions League hopefuls for long stretches of the game, but came undone 15 minutes from time when Rafael Toloi headed home from a corner that should never have been given.
Ex-Doria man Luis Muriel compounded the misery when he struck a second five minutes later following another corner.
