Team visit Presena glacier on day off

Sampdoria’s pre-season team-bonding continued at a height of 3000 metres on Friday. Almost the entire squad decided to spend their first free day visiting the stunning mountain landscape around Ponte di Legno.

Accompanied by experienced staff from the Pontedilegno-Tonale consortium, Fabio Quagliarella and his team-mates travelled up – some by helicopter and others by cable car – to the Presena glacier at 2,700 metres above sea level, before climbing up to 3000. There they were treated to a jaw-dropping view, made all the more stunning by the good weather.

The trip was a wonderful experience but it will soon be just a memory: another hard day of training awaits them at Temu sports centre back down in the valley on Saturday.
