Estigarribia, Sansone, Icardi: amazing second half, Roma destroyed
An
enormous breath. Three goals and three points are now pure oxygen.
After 45 minutes of intermittent game, Sampdoria accelerates and in
the second half of the match it destroys the first Roma of Aurelio Andreazzoli. Actually, we don’t know if it will be the breaking
point of our season. What is really important is that the match ended
in our favour and that Delio Rossi’s guys completely did their
duty against a really strong contender. During the last minutes, our
Mister was expelled by referee Celi and walked off the pitch
acclaimed as king by more than 22.000 supporters attending the match
at the "Ferraris" stadium.
Taking
the helm. The contender came to Genova with bellicose intentions,
demonstrated especially in the first 45 minutes. In the second half,
however – under the eyes of Roberto Mancini, of the Argentinian head coach
Alejandro Sabella and of the ex Sampdoria player Luis Suárez – the blucerchiati
take the helm. Gianluca Sansone enters and changes the game: at the minute
10th
he delivers the assist for Marcelo Estigarribia’s goal and at the minute
28th
he scores a wonderful goal from a free-kick. Between the two goals,
Osvaldo wins a penalty but Sergio Romero saves it. At the minute 30th
Lamela cuts the gap but two minutes later Mauro Icardi’s header puts an
end to Roma’s hope: he scores the final 3-1on Sansone’s corner.
Comments.
At the end of the match Sansone happily explains: «Nobody expected
such a debut, sometimes dreams come true». Delio Rossi is very
happy too: «Roma is a good team and we did a great performance: it
is the only way to win against such a strong team».
