Sansone opens, Eder closes: 2-2 between enigmas and dubious penalties
At
the end of the first half of the match it was like being in heaven.
2-0, Sansone-Pozzi and we were flying. At the end of the second one it
was like going to hell because of an unforgiving 1-2 for the visitors.
Actually, the final result between Sampdoria and Torino is a draw. In a
windy Sunday match characterized by goals scored, goals disallowed,
mysteries, enigmas and penalties, Samp earns the third seasonal 2-2. And
it’s a draw that represents the third point in the ranking for Delio Rossi’s
guys who, compared to recent past, seem improving even if they are still
looking for a victory missing from last season.
The match. Samp starts with a three-man defence, Savvas Gentsoglou as playmaker and Nicola Pozzi and Manolo Gabbiadini as strikers with the support of Gianluca Sansone who opens the scoring at the minute 41st. Some minutes later, during the extra time, the granata goalkeeper Padelli saves Angelo Palombo’s free-kick then Pozzi put the rebound into the net and scores the 2-0 but the referee disallowed the goal since – he said – time was over. After the break Torino is more offensive and in ten minutes, from minute 21st to minute 31st, the visitors manage to turn the result thanks to Immobile first and Cerci, on penalty, then. The match seems over but Eder Citadin Martins, entered few minutes before, is fouled in the area and the referee points the spot: the blucerchiato makes no mistake and earns the point of the final draw.
Start again. Sansone, who scored the first goal of our championship in Marassi, talks about the team performance: «It’s a pity. With such a performance it would have been difficult to accept a defeat. Anyway, the point we earned it’s very important: we must start again from the performance». Palombo agrees with him: «I’m sorry for the result but I’m not worried about the ranking. I believe in this group: we’ll overcome this negative situation».
